In partnership with the Greater Washington Urban League
Volkswagen Group of America (VWGoA) and the Greater Washington Urban League (GWUL) are proud to announce the Future Leaders in Mobility Program. This weeklong camp will take place on August 16, 2021 through August 20, 2021. It is for rising high school juniors and seniors from underserved communities in the Washington, DC metro area and will focus on teaching students about the range of career opportunities in the automotive industry.
This immersive learning experience will cover topics across VWGoA’s numerous brands and departments to provide students a closer look at the various exciting automotive career paths available such as engineering, marketing, public relations, finance, and dealership operations.
The Greater Washington Urban League will select 20 students for the program through an application which includes an essay. VWGoA will host the week of scheduled activities and sessions with company leadership at its headquarters in Herndon, Virginia, if health and safety protocols allow. A virtual learning experience will be offered if meeting in person remains restricted under local regulations.
Following the camp, students will have the opportunity to participate in a formal, year-long mentorship program to connect with VWGoA employees for further career advice and guidance as they chart their academic studies.
